The National coordinator of the presidential task force on covid 19, Dr sani Aliyu has urged schools to adopt strict covid-19 preventive measures. He maintained that students or pupils diagnosed with respiratory related symptoms consistent with covid-19 should be immediately sent home to reduce the risk of spread among other students.
He said this during a Covid-19 briefing on Monday 23rd, October in Abuja.
Concerning the re-opening of schools, he said the task force would like to reiterate adherence to strict covid-19 guidelines by schools, particularly increased screening and proper awareness, this was said following the issues the PTF had with Lagos State over the outbreak of Covid-19 in some schools.
“Any student presenting symptoms that are consistent with covid-19, particularly fever and respiratory issues, should not be allowed in the school”
“When a child is noticed to have respiratory symptoms, he should be immediately sent back home so the risk of transmission can be reduced”.
“We encourage schools to consider creative solutions to abide by our COVID guidelines including staggered learning to avoid overcrowding, platooning, daily attendance and adjusting teachings among others,” he said.”Recommend0 recommendationsPublished in
